OUR MISSION

South Platte Natural Resources District (SPNRD) was established in 1977. The district is made up of three counties, Deuel, Kimball and Cheyenne county. The mission of the SPNRD is to formulate and instigate forward-looking plans and programs. All projects are completed through a cooperative process that provides long-term protection and enhancement of the district's natural resources while ensuring that major economic and social impacts are fully considered.

Oliver Reservoir

Lake Oliver lies eight miles west of Kimball on Hwy. 30.  It is a prime example of a Natural Resources District multi-function facility. Owned and operated by SPNRD, the 917-acre property features a 264-acre lake (at full conservation pool) originally designed as an irrigation impoundment on Lodgepole Creek. Through years of service, the reservoir helps feed irrigated crops, prevents floods and provides many recreational opportunities.  More about the rules and regulations and Oliver news can be found at the button below.
